Rosemary Schwartz is a Made Institute student who is debuting at Philly Fashion Week in February 2020! She has collaborated with a Philadelphia based shoe brand Llani, which makes globally inspired hand crafted flats. Both the Made Institute team and Rosemary have been long time admirers. Rosemary first saw the brand at the Fishtown Flea Market where she became obsessed!
About six months later, Llani came to speak at Made Institute and Rosemary was able to meet her face to face. It was everything she thought it would be! Rosemary likes Llani’s shoes because she appreciates the Indian authentic flair the shoes have. They are made in India from a female founded production company.
The reason behind Rosemary’s love for Indian culture and style started when she was 20 when she took belly dancing and Tahitian dance classes. A classmate told her about Bollywood dancing and from there she became captivated and started binging Bollywood movies, music videos and just absorbing all that she could. Seven years later she finds herself still influenced by Bollywood and by collaborating with Llani, she is able to incorporate that love into her collection.
Alana Oates, the creative force behind Llani shoes, has generously sponsored six pairs of her signature flats to be styled with Rosemary’s collection for her graduate runway show.
So be on the lookout for her worldly brand Edaalia and on the runway at Philly Fashion Week Spring 2020!
