As Philadelphia’s independent fashion design and sewing school, our mission is to give our perspective on the ever changing world of fashion and art. On this blog you will find student interviews, showcases for local businesses, and commentary on the most recent fashion developments!
Made Institute was founded by Rachel Ford who grew Made Institute from her apartment with two student classes to a place that guides students to start their own brand and bring their own vision to the world. The team is a collective of expert instructors and individuals who have expertise in a variety of industry skills such as sewing, pattern making, and CAD design.
The students at Made Institute come for a multitude of reasons but the most important is that they have a vision in their head and it is important for them to get that vision out into the world. Such as myself, I came to Made because traditional college did not fit into my budget and offers a more personal way of learning that is tailored to me. Due to my large interest in running my own fashion magazine, Made Institute has given me the chance to run this blog and give me the experience allowing me to take a step closer to my goal.
